Shock Treatment
Picking up where "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" left off, this outrageous musical sequel to the midnight hit stars Brad (Cliff DeYoung) and Janet Majors (Jessica Harper) in a wild send-up of America's favorite pasttime - television. The Majors' hometown, Denton, USA, has literally turned into a giant TV studio. Townspeople burst into the studio each morning, fall asleep in their audience seats each night and remain happily trapped inside an endless series of soap operas and game shows. When Brad and Janet are recruited as contestants on the counseling show, "Marriage Maze," Brad is quickly put away for treatment in a sanitarium because the show's sponsor (also Cliff DeYoung) has eyes for Janet and wants him out of the way. Comedian Barry Humphries ("Australia's Dame Edna") co-stars as the mad, blind German emcee who leads his own special touch to this equally mad film by "The Rocky Horror Picture Show's" original creators.
